Big Data Analytics” (BDA) enables new data-driven insights which are being used for competitive advantage over peer organizations to more effectively market products and services to targeted consumers. Analytical methods such as data mining, natural language processing, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics are employed to analyze, contextualize and visualize the data. These computerized analytical methods recognize inherent patterns, correlations and anomalies which are discovered as a result of integrating vast amounts of data from different datasets.

And in healthcare standard medical practice is moving from relatively ad-hoc and subjective decision making to evidence-based healthcare.
