This issue generally occurs, if you are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. As you know, Microsoft updates occur based on schedules. Upgrades to CRM Online do not automatically upgrade the CRM Outlook client and users may not be aware of that. If the CRM Outlook Client version differs from the version in Dynamics CRM, try upgrading the Outlook Client to the current version.

So what should I do!

Step 1: Identify your organization’s Dynamics CRM version

  • Navigate to you CRM Instance
  • Click Options
  • About

Step 2: Identify your Outlook client plug-in version

  • Start Outlook
  • Click File
  • Navigate to CRM tab
  • Click About

If you get the above message window, it means the Outlook client for CRM needs to be updated. Based on the version, it can be downloaded from below URLs.

CRM 2013 https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=40344
